It’s no secret that “getting healthy” continues to top new year’s resolution lists year after year. This goal usually involves some type of fitness routine, that almost certainly involves your feet.

Whether you are new to exercise, or ramping things up for the new year, foot injuries can quickly put a halt to your success.

Follow these easy, but important steps to ensure you turn your resolutions into realizations!

  1. Start Gradually: Overuse injuries, such as stress fractures and tendonitis can occur when you excitedly jump in to an intense exercise program.
  2. Wear Supportive Shoes: Shoes that lack appropriate support can aggravate heel and arch pain.
  3. Pay attention to technique, and don’t forget to stretch: There are numerous tendons, ligaments, bones, and joints in your feet, which are prone to injury. Stretching before and after workouts can prevent strains, sprains, and other pains that might keep you from achieving this year’s fitness goals.

At Toe-Tal Foot & Ankle Care, our doctors want you to have a successful 2017. Let us help you overcome any foot or ankle pains that might be keeping you from obtaining your fitness resolutions.
